Musical Digest: Fumigation, [Evertrapped], Deformatory

Fumigation has a new lyrics video and it is monstrous, quite litterally. While “Craniofacial Duplication” follows Carcass’ tradition to use an ultra technical language, the least we can say is that the visual is raw and very explicit. It’s probably not a good idea to watch this video in public, mostly because not everyone will get its second degree nature. If you like Fumigation’s music, I highly recommend to buy their full length album Integrated Pest Management, released on CDN Records–you can read our review here.

Talking about excellent albums that didn’t get enough media attention when they were released, Montreal’s [Evertrapped] just released a lyrics video for ‘Learning to Die’, fourth song off their 2012 album The Anomaly. Recommended for fans of melodic death metal with a pinch of metalcore and technique.

Lyrics video are on the rise, mostly because it’s an easy and cheap way to reinvigorate the buzz surrounding an album. As they work on their new album, the guys from Deformatory released a visual rendering for ”This Deafening Silence”, from their latest album In the Wake of Pestilence. With this kind of extreme music, lyrics video are a good way to make the band’s themes more accessible. It also makes us want to play this album again, while we wait for the next one.
