Musical Digest: Deathpoint and Kataplexis
Have you heard about Hamilton’s Deathpoint? Maybe you saw them live at Toronto’s Spread the Metal Fest last year? Equal parts grooves and melodies, the big sound and production on their first album, Sinister, should easily please fans of As I Lay Dying, Soilwork and Threat Signal. The video up here for the song “Between the Lines” has a very interesting story line and insane atmosphere that would nicely fit on the same shelve as american series Dexter and Criminal Minds, while the music draws comparison with Slipknot. If you like what you hear/see, you should get your hands on Sinister, on Canadian label Spread the Metal Records.
Talking about new records, last November we said a few words about the upcoming Kataplexis new album. “Downpour”, second full length of the Calgary grind-death outfit, was just released on January 11 on Galy Records. If you are looking for something new and devastating, this brutal record is custom-made for you. Recommended for fans of The Last Felony, CLR, and everything that strips.
